Side drum

Side Drum, wood, 1799-1803; used by the 3rd Battalion 4th (or the King’s Own) Regiment of Foot; front painted dark, possibly royal blue, decorated with crowned garter with George III cypher, regimental name and, inscribed into a brass plaque, a presentation inscription; flesh hoops and drum heads whole; ten holes with brass joining plate; plain drag rope over four cords; three ball legs on lower hoop.
