End-blown horn

African Horn, 1873 (c). Smooth brown patina surface, irregularly coloured; ovoid in section, curved upwards, tapering to mouth hole at point and flaring to bell at base; eight drilled holes around edge of flare and finger hole at top of mouthpiece; used by the Ashanti and taken during the 2nd Ashanti War.
