Tambourine

Tambourine, 1796-1814; used by the East India Dock Volunteers; wooden loop frame painted green outside and yellow inside, with orange and white border; five cymbal apertures for symbols, with two cymbals missing; metal bound thumb hole; shell painted with floral sprays and a device at one point, regimental arms and a motto; flesh hoop and tambourine head whole; six tensioning rods, tension controlled by wing nuts.
