Side drum

Shell of Side Drum, 1910 (c); sheet brass; cylindrical; pierced near the bottom with apertures for snare brackets; capstain shaped snare anchor fixed with a square nut and secured with a circular buff leather washer; impressed with manufacturer’s mark, Hawkes and Son, London, and regimental name; emblazoned with decoration including three gold crescents, a five point star, a gold scroll bearing an Arabic inscription and six scrolls bearing battle honours, some of which are illegible.
