Walking-stick flute

This is a side-blown flute made of boxwood in the shape of a walking-stick, in two sections (long cap, and integral head/body joint), and with a configuration for one key mounted on a wooden knob. The key, partially broken, is made of silver and has a flat, square-cover. The two holes bored at the distal end of the stick act as the open end of the tube. The heel cap is made of hollow brass-sheet. The head cap ferrule is made of silver, and it has two oval, silver eyelets with a wrist ribbon. This cap threads onto the flute head section through a wooden thread, and has a cork stopper. The embouchure hole is circular.
