Concertina
This concertina was donated by the owner, who was a resident of Holland-on-Sea, Essex. The name plate inscription "Alithea Calvert" also suggests a previous ownership, not the maker. It is an English system concertina with hexagonal fretwork case and end plates of rosewood veneer. It has five-fold dark-green leather bellows with patterned paper, and four straight rows of nickel-silver buttons on each side (48 keys), with silver tips. The finger rests are of nickel-silver covered in black leather, and there are thumb-straps of black leather as well.
