Transverse flute in C
Side-blown, Viennese style, ebony flute made in three sections (head, body and long B foot joints), with nine pewter-plug-cup, nickel-silver keys mounted in wooden blocks and ring. Key toneholes are bushed with metal. The key channels in the wooden blocks are lined with nickel-silver. Flat springs attached to keys. Rosewood cap and screw tip. Nickel-silver ferrules. Rounded rectangle embouchure hole. Biconvex-lens-shaped, nickel-silver plate on barrel (unmarked). Nominal pitch: C. This instrument is part of the Albert C. Spencer collection.
