Basset horn
Single-reed, straight clarinet made of grenadilla in four sections (barrel, upper and lower joints, and bell), with nickel-silver ferrules and keywork. Curved barrel made of nickel-silver. Nineteen keys and three rings with modern-style cups, mounted in posts with rods. Wrap-around register key. Straight throat A-flat key. Straight C4-sharp/G5-sharp key. Hard-rubber rollers on low keys. Four low keys for right thumb with overlapping touches. Mouthpiece of hard-rubber with nickel-silver ligature. Nominal pitch: F. This instrument is part of the Albert C. Spencer collection.
