Putatara
End-blown natural trumpet made from a giant triton shell (Charonia tritonis), with a carved wooden mouthpiece at the tip, attached with plaited and waxed cord of vegetable fibers. This type of trumpet was used as a signaling instrument rather than played as part of musical ensembles.
