Ocarina in D
This instrument is part of the Hassall collection. It is a Viennese model ocarina, or vessel flute, made from black-painted clay in a transverse shape (or "sweet potato" shape), which has a duct and a protruding mouthpiece. It has eight fingerholes and two thumbholes. The style of this instrument corresponds to the ones that were mass produced in the late 19th and early 20th century.
