Monastery bell

A Buddhist monastery bell made of cast copper alloy, suspended along with decorative/symbolic plaques and ring on decorative wooden stand. The bell is diamond-shaped in cross-section, with nine protruding spikes on each side, and no clapper, as these bells are struck with an external beater. The bell is engraved with geometric and curvaceous patterns, including four eyes. The ring is engraved with floral and foliage design on one side, and dragons and clouds on the opposite. The pagoda-shaped plaque has dragons and a central hoju. Stylised bat plaque. The base of the stand has decorative geometric patterned lattice-work. The top of the stand has decorative curvaceous scrolls.
