Yueqin
The yueqin is a short-necked lute of the Han Chinese, which is popularly known as "moon qin" or "moon lute" because of the typical circular body that resembles a full moon. This instrument is constructed with a very short fretted neck and a circular-shaped box resonator. It has four silk strings, arranged as two double courses, looped in four friction pegs and fixed to a semi-circular bridge, glued onto the soundboard. There are four raised bamboo frets on the soundboard and another four on the neck (two missing).
