Goge

This instrument is a variant of the African one-string fiddle that has a half-spike neck that pierces the skin soundtable and ends inside the resonator. It has a flat gourd resonator, covered with animal skin pinned to the gourd with small wooden pegs. The skin is also stretched around the heel section of the neck. There is a T-brace inside the resonator. The metal wire looped on the single hole at the neck would probably hold horsehair strings that would be tied to the bottom spike of neck inside the resonator.
