Saz

This is a long-necked lute with a small ribbed-pear-shaped body. It has a resinous wood neck and partial top, with exotic hardwood inlay on top and fretboard. The neck has accommodation for eight T-shaped pegs (the ninth hole is probably for ornamental or hanging strap), of which only four remain. There would have been tied gut frets, now missing, and the soundboard has marks for probable glued on frets. The bridge is also missing.
