Ankle rattle
This instrument was collected by Fred Merfield, and is associated with "Mendjim Mey," which appears to refer to both a cultural group and a geographical area, located East of Yaoundé, near the border with the Central African Republic. It is an ankle rattle made of dried fruit shells tied onto a plaited basketry band with twine of vegetable fibers.
