Fife in B-flat

This is a side-blown flute with conical bore, commonly called fife in the military jargon, made of rosewood in two sections (head and body) and nickel-silver ferrules and keywork. It has six modern-style-cup keys, mounted in posts with rods, with flat springs attached to keys. The D-sharp key cup seems to have been adapted from a cylinder cup key. The head is lined with metal and it has an oval embouchure hole. Nominal pitch: B-flat.
