Piccolo in D
This instrument was issued to W. H. Sayle (CH 13806). It is a side-blown piccolo flute made of rosewood in two sections (head and body) and nickel-silver ferrules. It has one saltspoon-cup nickel-silver key mounted on a raised ring, with flat spring attached to key. It has an oval embouchure hole and a larger fifth fingerhole. Nominal pitch: D.
