Military side drum
This instrument is associated with the 1st Battalion King's Own Scottish Borderers. It is a military side drum with emblazoned brass shell and chrome-plated hardware, with 14-inch synthetic heads. It has a rod-tensioning system with metal counterhoops and double-sided wall lugs (8 rods). There is one top wire snare with lever, and a straight-lay bottom wire snare with tensioning screw lever. The batter head has a metal carry hook attached.
