Bass clarinet in B-flat

This instrument is associated with the Royal Military School of Music at Kneller Hall. It is a bass clarinet made in four sections: nickel-silver crook and bell, and cocus wood body joints with nickel-silver ferrules and keywork. It has nineteen cylinder-cup keys, mounted in posts with rods, with flat and needle steel springs attached to keys and posts, cork paddings, and brown leather pads. The fingerholes keys are closed, with the exception of the first fingerhole, which has a ring key. The tenons are wrapped in cork. Tab seam on bell and crook. The mouthpiece is made of wood. Nominal pitch: B-flat.
