Lyre guitar
The two-piece back and ribs are made from tightly flamed maple. The spruce table and its two circular sound holes are edged with mother-of-pearl and ebony segments. The ebony bridge has ebony pins and two ebony foliate moustaches. The lyre arms are surmounted by brass eagle heads. The peg box holds six rear-facing pegs and is embellished with an applied brass foliate plaque. The label states: "A la lyre d'Amphion, chez Amédée Thibout, Luthier, rue St. Jean No 30, fait vend et rêpare toute especes d'instrument de musique, è Caen".
