Lute

The body is made from 13 ribs of yew, each one joined with a 1mm wide ebony strip. The soundboard is made from two pieces of bookmatched European spruce edged with ebony. The bridge and all of the pegs are also made from ebony. The neck and pegbox have an ebony veneer. The curved ebony fingerboard has 8 gut frets.
