Bow

Nickel mounted violin bow with an octagonal Pernambuco wood stick.The frog, with inlaid nickel ring and mother-of-pearl eye, is made of ebony, and nickel is used overall for the ferrule, underslide and heel plates. The three-piece button is also made from nickel on ebony with a mother-of-pearl eye on the end. Silver wire wrapping and a black thumb leather protect the octagonal handle and a plastic (xylonite) face protects the bow tip. Donated by Martha Weisser-Mason.
