Conical drum
Single-membrane conical drum of wood. The head lapped round a concealed hoop and tensioned by lacing of cane that runs in narrow V-shaped pairs to a secondary hoop 140mm from the distal end. The lower hoop tensioned by wooden wedges. A short carrying strap of of red and white cloth is associated with the instrument but is no longer attached.
