Two strikers for a Burmese metallophone known as a than pattala. They are made from teak with woolen covers. They are connected together by string. 'A Burmese harmonicon (Patala) of wood with designs in black resinous gum (thissi) covered with gilding and coloured glass, with two hammers' (Christie's entry)
