Kettledrum

One of a pair of George III copper kettle drums each on a tripod base, late 18th/early 19th century. Probably acquired in the 1770s by Sir Nathaniel Curzon, 1st Baron Scarsdale (d.1804). They were listed in the 1804 inventory beside the organ in the Music Room as 'two kettle drums' with a separate entry for 'two stands for kettle drums' and 'a mahogany box with drum sticks'.
