Sarinda
Sarinda, instrument of dark wood with peacock finial to peg box and a concave shaped body. Carved decoration to the outside. Strings missing. 'Sarinda', three stringed folk fiddle from Bengal or North East India, 19th century. This is an instrument widespread from Iran to India' (M. Jessup). There is a matching bow, SNO.MC.162.2.
