Cylindrical drum

Double membrane cylindrical drum. The shell carved from a single piece of wood into a roughly cylindrical shape with tool marks visible on the outer surface. The double hide membranes are lapped onto concealed hoops beneath the rims. The lacings are of twisted hide, mostly arranged in pairs. The lacings brace the membranes directly beneath the hoops. The paired lacings are arranged in double X-formations (each with four lacings). Each X is twisted round a central lateral stick, resting against the body. There are six sticks in total. There are two leather loops for attaching a carrying strap.
