Spike fiddle; endingidi
Endingidi, spike tube fiddle. The body is a hollow tube made from a bovine horn, open at both ends. The table is of skin nailed over the front of the body with wooden pins. The neck is a straight round stick which passes through the body, terminating in a spike at the base. The single peg is front entrant and is a long tapering notched stick, carved with a finial of four small truncated cones. The nylon monofilament string passes from the peg down the neck, over a short wooden bridge, and is attached to the spike at the base. The small, flexible wooden bow is out-curved, and is notched at both ends. The bow-string is made from fibres of the agave cactus (Agave sisalana). From the Kampala area.
