Rebab; necked fiddle
Rebab, two-stringed fiddle. The back and neck are carved from the same piece of wood. The lower part of the body, which is slightly waisted, is covered with a skin table, glued in place. The hollow neck is covered with a copper plate with a grille of three rosettes of graduated sizes. The plate is edged with bone, and there is a bone nut. Reflexed peg-box with two large reel-shaped pegs. The finial is trefoil shaped, with a cord and tassel. Label: '1894'.
