I?at??am. A pair of bronze cymbals with protection cloth and carrying bag. Molten bronze for the cymbals is cast in a mould, and when hardened the instruments are forged by a blacksmith. Both cymbals have a central handle of coconut shell, which is secured by the knotted ends of a length of yellow cord that passes through holes in the middle of the shell and the dome or boss of the cymbal. Made in Kadavalloor, Thrissur. The pair shown in this image are mounted for an exhibition.
