Transverse flute
Transverse flute. Boxwood. Five joints. Five ivory ferrules and eight silver keys. End cap missing. Keys, block-mounted, six with circular cork covered flaps and two (C & C keys) with pewter plugs. Lowest C key missing flap and part of shank. Tenons lapped with red waxy thread. Upper joint is stamped: RUDALL & ROSE/No.15 PLAZA/COVENT GARDEN/LONDON/1188; Barrel joint, lower joint and foot joint are stamped: RUDALL & ROSE/LONDON
