Cornet
Cornet in B flat, high pitch. Brass. Three Périnet valves, 'enharmonic' double principle compensating system. One shank. Little finger hook and water key on distal bow. Stamp on bell reads: FB[in highly stylised script]/ CLASS/A/Enharmonic/Patented/50 MEDALS OF HONOUR/BESSON & Co./"Prototype"/198 EUSTON ROAD/LONDON. Stamp on lower section of second valve casing reads: BESSON & Co./BREVETE/86456. The valve casings and caps are also stamped 7, 8 and 9 respectively.
