Alto flugelhorn
Tenor horn in E flat. Brass with silver plating. Four Périnet valves (non-compensating), valves 1-3 positioned vertically, valve 4 positioned mid-way down distal side for left hand operation. Socket for music card holder on third valve loop. Second valve slide missing. Bell stamped: CLASS/A/MEDALS OF HONOUR/FB/BESSON & Co./"Prototype"/198 EUSTON ROAD/LONDON; and engraved with floral decorations. Upper caps of valves 1 to 4 stamped: 10, 12, 1, 5 respectively. Lower caps of valves 1 to 3 stamped: 10, 2, 10; Back of second valve casing stamped with an oval shaped crest reading: BESSEON REGD/BREVETE; beneath which is stamped the valve cluster serial number: 64687
