Double flageolet
English double flageolet. Boxwood body, brass keywork and ivory mouthpiece, wind distributor and studs. Tubes of equal length. String lapped tenons. Keys include two cutters. Left hand tube has six tone holes, eight studs and two block mounted keys with square flat flaps and leather pads. Holes are numbered 1- 6 on left side, and note names B,A,G,F,E,D are stamped on the right side, with the note name D above the flap of upper key. Right hand tube has four tone holes, four studs and three keys. Holes are numbered 1 – 4 on left side, and note names G,F,E,D are given on the right side. Sponge chamber is stamped: BAINBRIDGE/INVENTOR/HOLBORN/HILL; Stock is stamped: BAINBRIDGE/& WOOD/35/HOLBORN/HILL/LONDON/PATENT; Stock is also stamped with a crown emblem, a cross emblem and the letter G.
