Conch-shell trumpet
Dhungkar (Monpa), dung-dkar (Tibetan), an end-blown trumpet formed from a conch shell with the apex removed to create a mouth hole. The shell is carved with diagonal stripes and a lotus flower motif. Purchased by Mr Sangka Dondup of Bomdir, Tawang from a shop in Bodhgaya, a major centre for Buddhism in the state of Bihar.
