Baritone saxophone. Curved body with looped neck. Silver-plated brass, frosted effect apart from guard plates on upper and lower branches, ferrules, inside bell and on keywork. Little finger keys for both hands rollered. Keys have leather pads. Key touches faced with mother of pearl. Pillar mounted water key at branch beneath crook receiver. Curved stay between bell and body. Music card holder socket at top left of body. Ring for neck strap. Butterfly screw at crook receiver. Inscription on RH side of bell: ‘1ER GRAND PRIX/DE/La Facture Instrumentale/MÉDAILLE D'OR 1900/Adolphe SAX/84. RUE MYRHA/PARIS/No 617’. Stamped at bottom of body, front: ‘10140 X’.
