Watkins Rapier 2E2® solid-body electric guitar, circa 1965. The wooden body with asymmetrical double cutaway, jack input, 2 pickups, 3 control buttons in white plastic with concave chrome tops, a red and a black plastic on/off switch for the two pickups, and rhythm/solo toggle switch near the neck pickup. The body neck and headstock painted red. Rosewood bridge. Rosewood fingerboard with 23 frets and pearl dot inlay. The angled headstock with 6 inline machine heads with white plastic buttons. Tremolo arm, 4 strings, endpin and strap button missing. Oval metal badge stamped ‘WATKINS’ on the tremolo plate, ‘Watkins/Rapier’ inscribed in yellow on the black plastic pickguard and stamped 1755 on the back of the headstock.
