Goblet drum
Goblet shaped drum. The shell is carved from a single piece of wood. A number of heavy pellets are enclosed within the drum. The wide upper part of the shell is painted with alternate stripes of red and white. The hide head is directly braced, attached by thongs which pass straight down the wide part of the shell and are woven round the stem in the form of a net. A small membrane closes the lower end. Basketry handle.
