Rubab

Prima Kashgar rubab, barbed lute. The back is formed from dark brown wooden ribs. Two 'barbs', extending from below the fingerboard, curve downwards towards the table. The long wooden neck has a light brown fingerboard with twenty-four copper frets, and eight pieces of white lozenge shaped inlay, possibly of bone. The pegbox terminates in a backward curving crook. The skin table is secured to the back with a strip of dark brown material. The bridge is M-shaped. There are five single courses of wire strings. They are secured to the base of the resonator with two yellow plastic endpins
