English-system concertina. Flat rosewood ends, 6.25in/159mm across parallel sides. Simple fretwork with white leather backing. 48 buttons: 24 each side, ivory with black accidentals, stamped and bushed. Round-end steel reeds, with pan stamped: L; or: R; and: 159; Four-fold green leather bellows with gold star papers. Straps and metals missing, nickel screws. Oval paper label: From C Roylance, Manufacturer and Professor of the concertina and harmonium, 58 Charlotte St, Fitzroy Square, London; Serial number 159.
