There are eight fingerholes along teh upper side, arranged roughly into two rows, and two thumbholes on the reverse side. The holes allow a full diatonic scale to be played. A mouthpiece that is oval in cross section, extends from the top side. It has a mouth hole at the end, and a round mouth or window close to the body on its underside.
