English-system concertina. Flat, thick rosewood ends, 6.12in/155mm across parallel sides. Simple frets with pine backing. 48 buttons: 24 each side, ivory with black accidentals, stamped. Round-end steel reeds. Five-fold green leather bellows with green/gold curlicue papers. Left-hand green leather strap, right-hand later strap, with small nickel screws. Oval paper label: Keith Prowse & Co Manufacturers, 48 Cheapside, London; Serial numbers: 4842 (in ink on left-hand pine backing), 1076 (pans), 1033 (bellows).
