Bassoon

Bassoon. Fruitwood body with brass keys and ferrules. Six keys, saddle mounted. Two keys have bascule joints. The instrument lacks the entire F sharp key (hole blocked) and shank of the F key (saddles and cover-plate present). Cylindrical pillar with hole for sling cast into butt joint ferrule. Constricted bell. Crook contemporary. The butt joint is missing the end cap. The inscription at the top of the long joint is stamped with a unicorn's head, with 'GOULDING' stamped upside down above.
