Vessel rattle
Gisaani (Bedumani), rattle. Made from the seed of an ofa tree (sago palm). The pod that has been cut off at one end, filled with seed beans, and fitted with wooden stopper. The rattle bears evidence of having been painted with circumferential bands at some time in the past. Very little of this pigment now remains. The rattle is played by women when dancing.
