Concertina
Anglo-German system concertina. Flat stained mahogany ends with bevelled edges, 6.25in/159mm across parallel sides. Ends fully fretted with fancy fretwork and red leather backing. 21 broad, tall bone buttons: 10 each side + 1 air (one right-hand absent), bushed. Round-end steel reeds in three quarter reed pans. Five-fold green leather bellows with gold star papers. Later leather straps with brass screws on mahogany hand bars. Right-hand strap stamped: Defiance, GJ, Screwed Notes, London Make; Oval paper label: G Jones, patent concertina manufacturer, 350 Commercial Road East; Serial number 26895.
