English-system concertina. Flat, simple mahogany ends, 6.12in/155mm across parallel sides. Simple frets, with pine backing. 48 buttons: 24 each side. Ivory with black accidentals, bushed. Round-end nickel reeds. Five-fold green leather bellows with gold star papers. Left-hand strap later, right-hand strap green leather with small nickel screws. Scalloped oval paper label: George Case, Manufacturer and Professor of the Concertina, 32 New Bond St, (late Joseph Scates) London; Serial numbers: 960 (ends), 1027 (pans), 972 (bellows).
