Bagpipe; gaita gallega
Gaita gallega, Galician bagpipes. A stamped inscription at the distal end of the chanter reads: 'B. CARRIL SANTIAGO'. The conical chanter has a thumbhole, seven fingerholes and two lateral vents.The chanter, bass drone (roncon), treble drone (ronquillo) and blowpipe, are each in a separate stock. The bass drone is in three joints. Both drones have metal ferrules. The bag is formed from the inner tube of a tyre and has a brown wool outer cover with thick cord around the seam. The end of the bag has a long fringe which continues along a ribbon tied to the bass drone.
