Free reed instrument; pi so
P? s?, pi chum, side-blown reedpipe with free reed. A bamboo tube with a single node, which closes the proximal end. A metal free reed is sited in an opening below the node. Seven fingerholes are positioned along the body on a plane at 90 degrees to that of the reed. The holes are slanted towards the proximal end and have elliptical openings at the surface.
