Rattle
Rattle (Bedamuni: sôpô). Used as a rattle in the ceremonial kosèi dance. The small net bag (ésa) contains several freshwater shells (sôpô). The kosèi danser wraps the cord of the sôpô around the knuckle of a cassowary bone dagger and bounces the rattle on the ground while dancing and singing. This rattle was made by Wemene.
