Anglo-German system concertina. Flat mahogany ends, 6.25in/159mm across parallel sides. Crude frets with red leather backing. 27 broad, domed bone buttons: 13 each side + 1 air, in 'two and a half row' layout. Round-end brass reeds. Five-fold black leather bellows with gold star papers. Leather hand straps on mahogany bars. Right end stamped: GJ Steel Reeds; Right-hand strap stamped: Screwed Notes Defiance, GJ, London Make; Oval paper label: G Jones, patent concertina manufacturer, 350 Commercial Road East; Serial number 26575.
